“Matt Jasper conveys the passion of someone eager to be more than a by-the-books singer-songwriter. He writes what he feels and plays what he knows, delivering a sound that is sincere and to-the-point. Time will tell if that undeniable drive brings him the acclaim and attention he deserves.”
-Darren Paltrowitz, Moving In Stereo

Matt Jasper is a New York based musician with an ear for a hook and witty lyrical sensibiity. His music has been compared to artists as diverse as Elliott Smith, REM, and Ben Folds, and can be best described as indie pop rock with a sometimes orchestral flair. At present, Matt is in the midst of the release for Bored Games, his third full length album. He runs the music publishing company, As A Matter Of Fact (BMI) and the record label, For The Records. In addition to this, he has worked within the music industry over the past five years, currently explaining the world of music publishing at the Harry Fox Agency.

In the past, Matt Jasper has handled technical support for a music technology company (Samson Technologies) describing various sound engineering techniques to Do It Yourself artists, hosted a radio show (The Full House of Rock, under the pseudonym DJ Tanner) at 90.3 WVPH FM, and co-founded and ran a Musician’s Rights Organization (The Rutgers University Musician’s Guild). Matt has played in a number of bands for nearly ten years, usually contributing guitar and vocals, with the occasional trombone. He has recorded three full length studio albums (2010’s Bored Games, 2007’s ‘As A Matter Of Fact’ and 2004’s ‘The Distance Between’) and has also recorded two home demo albums (2003’s ‘Thinking Back’ and 2001’s ‘Jasper Makes Music’).
