Catalog Two

Matt Jasper Announces Catalog Two, A Bold Reimagining of His Back Catalog, Out March 21, 2025

Singer-songwriter Matt Jasper returns with Catalog Two, a collection of newly recorded versions of songs from his back catalog, set for release on March 21, 2025. Fusing elements of indie rock, pop rock, folk, and ambient soundscapes, Jasper brings fresh energy and perspective to a decade’s worth of songwriting. Drawing inspiration from artists as diverse as Ben Folds, Jeffrey Lewis, Father John Misty, Kim Deal, and The Beach Boys, the album reinvents old favorites with a refined, immersive sonic approach. Featuring dynamic instrumentation—including electric and acoustic guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, and trombone—Catalog Two reflects Jasper’s evolution as both a musician and storyteller.

Leading up to the album’s release, Jasper will unveil two singles: “Tiny Tragedy” (March 7, 2025) and “Lisa Fernandez” (March 14, 2025). “Tiny Tragedy” is a Springsteen-esque rock ballad tackling themes of helplessness and grief through the lens of local news and personal loss. “Lisa Fernandez” leans into pop rock, blending infectious hooks with introspective storytelling about love and regret. These singles offer a glimpse into the album’s expansive emotional and musical range—balancing sharp, observational lyricism with rich, dynamic arrangements.

“Revisiting these songs wasn’t about nostalgia—it was about reinterpreting them through everything I’ve learned since first writing them,” says Jasper. “Some songs demanded a bigger, more textured approach, while others needed to be stripped down to their essence. Catalog Two is a reflection of where I’ve been, but more importantly, where I’m going.”

Catalog Two will be available on all major streaming platforms on March 21, 2025.
